ACS New York enables remote mine visit

Air Charter Service's New York office recently arranged a charter for investors of a large energy company to travel from one mine to another remote site with the minimum of hassle.

The flight was from Bogota in Colombia to the remote Peruvian city of Iquitos. With a population of more than 370,000, Iquitos is generally considered the most populous city in the world that cannot be reached by road - it is only accessible by aircraft or boat.

Using commercial flights would have involved a lot of the day in airports and more than one aircraft. Andy Christie, Passenger Sales Director ACS New York, located a brand new U.S. based Citation Sovereign to fly the investors quickly and efficiently to the site in Peru that they were considering developing.

Christie said: "Using any other form of transportation would have been a lengthy process, involving changing aircraft amongst other things. We used a U.S. aircraft as opposed to a more local one as the costs actually proved to be almost half the price of the equivalent from a Latin American operator, with the benefits of easier permission and the general logistics of the operation. And in the brand new Citation Sovereign they travelled in comfort and style.

"Chartering is the ideal way to visit more than one site in the shortest amount of time, and we are booking more and more. We have even performed charters just to fly low over several sites in one trip."
